The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce that Blake Ferguson has signed a two-year extension, keeping him at the Club until the end of 2017.

25 year-old Ferguson made his Club debut in the opening round of the 2015 season, and has scored six tries in the 11 games he has played with the Tricolours to date.

“I’m very proud to have re-signed with the Roosters. The Club has looked after me and I really feel like I’ve found a home here,” said Ferguson.

“There’s a strong culture here at the Club and I’m excited to be able to continue my football career with the Roosters,” he added.

Roosters Chief Operating Officer Football, Brian Canavan, said: “Blake has been very happy since he joined our Club and has openly indicated that he was keen to extend his stay.

“Since he joined us in an off-field capacity mid-way through last year, Blake has worked hard to return to the NRL and is someone who not only buys into the culture at the Club, but drives it,” he added.

Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, was also pleased to have Ferguson commit his long-term future to the Club, praising Ferguson for his transition into the team.

“There’s no denying that Blake is a terrific athlete, but more importantly, he’s worked hard to gain the trust and respect of the coaching staff and his teammates via his attitude to training and his commitment to being a positive contributor off the field as well,” said Robinson.

“I have no doubt that Blake will continue to work hard and be a keen contributor at our Club over the next few years,” he added.
