Our History
Since the inception of Rugby League in 1907 and the commencement of the first season in 1908, the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club has stood as a pillar of the sport. We take immense pride in being a foundation club, celebrating our rich history and heritage while steadfastly supporting those who represent the Roosters.
The Sydney Roosters Museum
As part of the development of the new Allianz Stadium and the Nick Politis AM Centre of Excellence, we have embarked on the construction and curation of a new museum. This museum commemorates and celebrates the history and achievements of the Club since its inception in 1908.
The Sydney Roosters Foundation Room
The Foundation Room tells the story of the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club, from its establishment at Paddington Town Hall to the modern-day achievements of Sydney Roosters greats. Artefacts and collectibles passed down from generation to generation are on display for all to see, and we are committed to preserving our heritage for all passionate Roosters fans and visitors to enjoy into the future.
The Sydney Roosters Past Players Association
In our continued commitment to engage and support our past players, the Sydney Roosters have diligently established a comprehensive Past Players program. This includes the development of a charter and an annual event schedule, ensuring that those who have worn the iconic red, white, and blue maintain a strong connection to the Club.
Where History Was Made
We are dedicated to recognising both past and present individual and team successes, with special efforts made to ensure that former Roosters from all over the world can reunite with their teammates and staff to celebrate their remarkable achievements. Each past player is now honored with an individual tile within the Nick Politis AM Centre of Excellence, with their notable accomplishments prominently displayed.
The Reunion | 2013 Premiership Winners
Sydney Roosters respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
