Major Sponsors
The Sydney Roosters have been a pioneer in the field of
sports sponsorship in Australia. In 1976, when playing as
the Eastern Suburbs Roosters, the Club created history
by becoming the first in Australian sport to have a front of
jersey sponsor, with City Ford emblazoned on what is now
considered to be an iconic jersey of Rugby League. City
Ford, which was to become Australia's biggest automotive
retailing business, was owned in 1976 by Nick Politis, who
would later become the longest ever Chairman of the
Sydney Roosters. Listed below are all those companies who
were the major (front of jersey) sponsors of the Roosters.
