Match Highlights | Roosters v Sharks – Grand Final, 2024

After a narrow Round 1 loss to the reigning Premiers, Newcastle Knights, the Roosters bounced back in fierce form putting on big wins against the Broncos, Tigers and Dragons.

An uncharacteristic loss in Round 5 against the Titans would be their final loss of the 2024 season, charging through the Raiders, Sharks, Cowboys and Eels. With a powerful blend of experienced campaigners and exciting young talent, the Roosters dominated the regular season, finishing second on equal points with Minor Premiers the Brisbane Broncos.

In the Preliminary Final, the Roosters would once again face the reigning premiers, the Knights. This time, they secured a convincing 25-16 win at Allianz Stadium, booking their place in the Grand Final.

Having come agonisingly close to Grand Final success in previous years, the team had one hand on the trophy with an emphatic 24 to nil first half performance against the Sharks. However, the Sharks mounted a fierce comeback in the second half, scoring four unanswered tries to narrow the Roosters’ lead to 26-24 with just under 10 minutes remaining.

In the closing stages, NRLW Dally M Player of the Year, Olivia Kernick, delivered the match-winning moment, crossing the line to seal the Roosters' victory.

Under the leadership of captain Isabelle Kelly and Head Coach John Strange, the Roosters’ season was defined by resilience in defense and electrifying attack. The perfect blend of physicality and finesse saw them reclaim the NRLW crown.
