Hello Chooksters,
The NRL season is just around the corner now and with our first trial less than 24 hours away, the social media world has been a buzz of excitement and anticipation for Roosters players, members and supporters this week. The excitement levels of the players are at a season-high and the off-field activity of the club throughout the week has certainly added to that.
One of our biggest signings over the off-season was, of course, the acquisition of Sonny Bill Williams and the man they call SBW arrived on Monday to join his new team mates at Roosters HQ. A lover of the Twittersphere himself, Sonnys arrival certainly got people talking and our first look at the man in the famous Tricolours scored 20+ RTs and nearly as many Favourites. You can follow Sonny on Twitter at @SonnyBWilliams.
Another exciting announcement for Rooster fans on Twitter was recently re-signed start halfback Mitchell Pearce deciding to join in on the fun and get on board with his very own account. Hes yet to Tweet (other than an interesting first go) but you can follow Junior at @mitch_pearce7 and keep up-to-date with what the NSW Blues halfback is getting up to away from training.
In other signing news, Luke ODonnell was announced this week as the final piece of the puzzle that is the Sydney Roosters squad in 2013 and certainly got the Twitter chat going hard and fast with the news scoring just under 40 RTs and plenty of responses from our passionate fans.
Sticking with Twitter, assistant coach Jason Taylor will be joining us next week for the latest instalment of #ChookChat. JT will be taking over our @sydneyroosters account for an hour to answer all your questions on the season ahead, including our new signings, the way he intends to direct the attack around and anything else you want to hear about from one of the best minds the game has ever seen.
Were now less than three weeks away from our season opening blockbuster against the Bunnies at Allianz Stadium and weve ramped up the #Love2Hate yet again with a new competition that could see you walk away with the full 2013 Roosters training kit. All you have to do is head to our YouTube page, check out what Aidan Guerra is asking you to do and you could win!
With the season now just out of reach, and the trials commencing, were right in the middle of it here at Roosters HQ and your first-stop for the best images of all the boys hard at work is to make sure youre following us on Twitter and /or Instagram - @sydneyroosters for both.
