After a heart-breaking 2 point loss in last weekends opening round the Auckland Vulcans will be looking to register their first points of the season at Mount Smart Stadium.

The Newtown Jets on the other hand started their title defence in impressive fashion, claiming a decisive 30-10 win over the Illawarra Cutters.

Auckland benefited from the presence of newcomers such as winger Ngani Laumape, halfback Harry Siejka and rookie captain John Palavi and will be looking to continue forward with what is a mostly unchanged team.

Experienced utility Steve Waetford moves to the wing to replace Bill Tupou who will play for the Warriors in place of the injured Manu Vatuvei, while Dominic Peyroux moves from the centres to the backrow, with Atelea Nafetali lining up in the three quarter line.

The match will act as a homecoming for several players in the Newtown squad, with former Vodafone Junior Warriors Adam Henry, Nafe Seluini and Ivan Penehe all lining up for the Jets in a team which has plenty of NRL experience.

Both teams possess forward packs which are both mobile and physical meaning it is likely the team who wins the battle of the big men will come out on top.

The Vulcans will feel unlucky to have left Manly last weekend without 2 points and will be keen to ensure that their 2013 campaign takes a more positive turn this week.

For Newtown the year is off to a great start, but a trip across the Tasman always represents a real challenge and they will need to be on top of their game.

The Newtown Jets are excited to announce a partnership with Commotion TV to bring you live-streaming of the Round 2 VB NSW Cup match against the Auckland Vulcans live from Mt Smart Stadium.
