Sydney Roosters Ambassador Brad Fittler made a visit to Randwick Boys Public School last Thursday to give their senior boys a taste of rugby league, with their first coaching session under the watchful eye of the one of the game's greatest ever.
The all boys school is primarily a rugby union school but are introducing rugby league to their sports curriculum.
The school have recognised the importance of the thirteen man code in the development of its rugby union players overall game and have indentified rugby league core skills as highly important.
Fittler spoke with Roosters.com.au following the session and said, A number of the senior playing group had played league before but it was great to see how engaged they were as group."
"During the session we focused on the core skills and control of the ball. I worked one on one with the kids and what really impressed me was their enthusiasm - it was exciting and a very rewarding session."
The Sydney Roosters will continue to support Randwick Boys Public school and we wish the players good luck with our great game.
