With the endorsement of the Country Rugby League, the Sydney Roosters is pleased to announce the formation of an alliance with Central Coast Division Rugby League.

Through the partnership, the Sydney Roosters will provide a series of talent development pathways and participation development initiatives for local players, coaches, support staff, match officials and administrators as well as the formation of a secondary affiliation with Wyong Rugby League Club Group through its NSWRL Cup participation. The Roosters primary affiliation with the Newtown Jets NSWRL Cup Club will remain unchanged.

“This is an exciting alliance for both the Sydney Roosters and the Central Coast Division Rugby League,” said Sydney Roosters Chief Operating Officer Football, Brian Canavan.

“With more than 4,500 juniors and 1,000 seniors participating in rugby league across the region, this alliance and secondary affiliation will provide all levels of Central Coast Division Rugby League participation with a visible and direct link to an NRL club, encouraging players and officials to remain in the region, increase participation and showcase rugby league as a leading sport,” he added.

Sydney Roosters five-eighth James Maloney
is a product of the Central Coast, having played for the St Edwards and Ourimbah Clubs, and has endorsed this exciting new partnership.

“I consider myself really lucky to have grown up on the Central Coast, it’s a region that loves its rugby league,” said Maloney.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to pursue a career in the NRL, and with the Central Coast continuing to grow the way it is, it’s great that aspiring footy players and officials can have this direct pathway to a professional career through this new partnership with the Roosters,” he added.

The Sydney Roosters will continue with its existing relationship with the Woy Woy Junior and Senior Rugby League associations, while the club also sponsored the Central Coast Senior Representative program in 2013.
