The Sydney Roosters have today confirmed that Tautau Moga has been granted an immediate release from his contract.

20 year-old Moga was contracted to the club until the end of 2014 but has been granted the release to join the North Queensland Cowboys immediately.

Sydney Roosters Chief Operating Officer Football, Brian Canavan, said: “Unfortunately for Tautau, his progress has been hindered by two knee reconstructions over the last two seasons, and his opportunities have consequently been limited by the development of the other outside backs at the club.

“We release him with the view that this opportunity is in his best interests, and wish him all the very best,” said Canavan.
