In support of the ‘Rise For Alex Round’, the Sydney Roosters and our proud major partner, Steggles are excited to announce that the Steggles Roosters Charity Nest has donated $20,000 towards the ‘Rise for Alex Fund’.
During last night’s telethon during The Footy Show on Channel Nine, management of Steggles and the Roosters made the call in donating the funds towards this great cause resulting in one of the most significant donations for the ‘Rise To Alex Fund’ to date.
The Steggles Roosters Charity Nest is used to hitting new records with the partnership hitting the ‘$1 Million Dollar Milestone’ during the 2013 season which also saw a record breaking year for monies donated since it’s inception in 2010. A further $221,251 has been raised during the 2014 at the half way point of the Season with the Charity Nest currently sitting at $1,645,817.
The Charity Nest sees Steggles, major sponsor of the Sydney Roosters, donate $1000 for every point the Roosters beat the opposition by, while the Roosters contribute $250 per point. In addition, the Sydney Roosters contribute a further $1,000 for each win by their under 20s Holden Cup team.
The selected children’s charities benefiting from the continued on field success of the Club include Children’s Hospital Foundation, Brisbane, Children’s Cancer Institute Australia, Lifestart, Roosters Reach Out Program and the 2014 Charity of Choice – KidsXpress Life.
The Sydney Roosters and Steggles would like to take this opportunity to ask Roosters fans to help support the ‘Rise For Alex Fund’ by purchasing a wristband for $2 at the designated collection buckets located around the ground.”
