The World Vision 40 Hour Famine is taking place this weekend and the Sydney Roosters are doing their part to raise funds for World Vision projects in Rwanda, with Roosters Coaching and Football Staff participating in this year’s 40 Hour Famine.

The Football Staff have decided to give up food from 12.00am Sunday, August 17 to 4.00pm Monday, August 18, to raise money for World Vision’s work in some of the poorest parts of the world.

Sydney Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, said: “This is a small way we can all play a part in raising awareness for an important cause. The staff will be starting the famine after our game on Saturday night, and hope to raise some funds in support of World Vision’s work in tackling the causes of poverty.”

“We appreciate any show of support via a donation to the Team Roosters page,” added Robinson.

Each year, malnutrition and hunger-related diseases cause 60% of deaths in children under five in developing countries. The funds raised via the 40 Hour Famine support World Vision’s work tackling the causes of poverty.
