The Sydney Roosters 2015 season was officially launched at the Club’s Bondi Junction base last night in front of a 300 strong room of Sponsors, Members, VIPs and players past and present.

Hosted by Fox Sports’ Jimmy Smith, the night began with an official welcome on behalf of Chairman Nick Politis from Board Member Mark Fennessy before guests were treated to an insight into the Football Department’s plans for 2015 from Head Coach Trent Robinson, NYC Coach and Football Manager Adam Hartigan, and High Performance Manager Travis Touma.

Attendees also heard from recently appointed Co-Captains Mitchell Pearce and Jake Friend,  U20s Skipper Paul Momirovski and a very special panel discussion with Board Member Luke Ricketson, Assistant Coach Craig Fitzgibbon and Anthony Minichiello.

The latter of course attending for the first time as a non-player, something that he’s very happily getting used to.

“It is a bit weird being here and not having to get up on stage and talk about the upcoming season,” Minichiello said.

“I’m starting to tick off more and more things as the year gets closer that keep reminding me I have retired, it really is sinking now.”

Asked if he regretted the decision at nights like this, the 302 game Rooster was quick to respond.

“Ask me that when the boys are heading out for a fitness session in 30+ degrees,” he smiled.

“I’m very happy in retirement but am looking forward to a big year for the boys, it’s always an exciting time as the countdown gets shorter and shorter to kick off.”

The recently retired, two-time Premiership winner was also announced to be receiving Life Membership to the Club at the upcoming Football Club AGM following more than 15 years of service to the Club.

Another very excited man, enjoying the atmosphere amongst the Roosters Family at the Season Launch was long-time Sponsor and Member Andy Caryofyllis.

“Season launches are a highlight as you feel the enthusiasm and excitement of the Coaches and playing group ahead of a new year,” he said.

“I’m totally pumped and quietly confident for this season. We have an excellent roster and have chosen two very worthy Captains to lead us.”

Attended by the full 2015 NRL Squad and Coaching Staff, the night is a chance for the group to mix with the biggest contributors to the Club ahead of the upcoming Premiership campaign.

Something Caryofyllis, as a Member and Sponsor, looks forward to.

“Being able to go to a season launch to mingle with other Sponsors and Members in this fashion is what makes you feel a part of the Roosters family.”'

“Any Roosters event I attend I enjoy because of the many, many friends I’ve made through my association with this Club.”

“As a small business Sponsor I love the interaction I get with the Club and fellow Sponsors. These are people who share a common passion with myself and I’m proud of my brand being associated with the Roosters.”
