The Roosters had their hearts broken at Central Coast Stadium on Sunday, going down to the Titans 35-40.
The Roosters would be the ones to open the scoring in the opening five minutes, when Joey Lussick popped a rainbow pass to Joseph Manu to set him up in the corner.
They seemed to have all the momentum in the opening stages, as Jackson Hastings popped an offload to Joseph Manu to put him over for a double.
It turned into a grind over the next fifteen minutes, until the Titans turned it on, scoring back-to-back tries through their wingers Tyrone Roberts-Davis and Greg Lelesiuao, which locked the game up at 10-10.
In the final minutes of the half, the Titans went over again to take a six point lead, leaving the Roosters with plenty to talk about in the sheds at half time.
Fullback Shaun Hudson opened the scoring for the Titans in the second half with an 80 metre effort, then again through Josh Berkers, as the Roosters were just not keeping up in this one.
It appeared that something had finally clicked in this one for the Roosters, they went on to score four unanswered tries through Zac Nicholls, would score under the uprights, Jackson Hastings who chipped to himself in a freaky solo effort, Joseph Manu for his hat-trick and the score was levelled through Latrell Mitchell who pounced on a kick from Hastings.
All locked up and less than five minutes remaining, the Roosters received a penalty right on half way. If there was a time to win this one, it was with this opportunity, and it would be well executed when Jackson Hastings slotted the field goal to mount a sensational comeback and put his side up by 1 point.
The Titans went with the short kick and scored to break the Roosters hearts, winning 35-40 in a gutsy comeback that was cut short at the death.
