The Roosters have gone down 0-40 to the North Queensland Cowboys in a disappointing performance on Thursday night.
It was the ideal start for the Cowboys, after taking advantage of a goal-line dropout to go over on the left edge through former Rooster Kane Linnett.
A slow start from the Roosters would see the Cowboys take full advantage just minutes later, scoring in the same corner through Antonio Winterstein.
The Roosters successfully survived a few scares until the final minute of the first half, when Lachlan Coote found his way to the line through the Roosters defence.
Capitalising on an error and a penalty at the start of the second half, Scott Bolton scored under the uprights for the Cowboys to lead by four converted tries.
The game was all but done when Michael Morgan went in on the right hand side for the Cowboys to take the lead to 0-28 in the closing stages.
Jason Taumalolo got an inside ball from Jonathan Thurston to go over in the final five minutes.
Kyle Feldt went over at the final buzzer to make it a big win for the Cowboys.
