The Roosters have pulled off an impressive victory over the reigning Premiers on Sunday afternoon, downing the Cowboys 22-10 at Allianz Stadium.

The Cowboys opened their scoring account early on when Ethan Lowe took advantage of a thin right edge to barge his way over for the first of the afternoon.

The Roosters would do well to hit back though, when Ryan Matterson was delivered a good ball from Mitchell Pearce to send him through a gap on the left edge.

Shaun Kenny-Dowall turned back the clock to score a great try just minutes later, after throwing the dummy, skipping and stepping his way to the line.

To top off what was an exceptional first half from the Roosters, Boyd Cordner found himself scoring between the uprights after Pearce delivered another golden ball and Cordner ran the perfect line.

The second half started the way the first half ended, with the Roosters looking too good for the Cowboys.

Next up to join in on the scoring was Latrell Mitchell, on the back of a sensational run from Daniel Tupou and a beautiful inside ball from Shaun Kenny-Dowall to put him through the defensive line.

The Cowboys were not ready to lay down yet though, and it was former Rooster Kane Linnett to deliver for the Cowboys and make it a twelve point game in the final fifteen minutes.

They tried hard to claw their way back into it, but the Roosters defence was strong enough to hold back their efforts.
