An education fund has been established to assist the children of former Parramatta Eels and Sydney Roosters player Chad Robinson to complete their schooling.
Chad is survived by two children, 15 year-old daughter Kiara and 10 year-old son Cooper. Both children attend schools in the Hills district of north-western Sydney and all money raised will assist with their schooling.
The Eels and Roosters have united in their efforts to assist the Robinson family and will also work together on specific fund-raising and awareness efforts in the lead-up to their game in Round 10 of the 2017 NRL season.
Parramatta Eels National Youth Competition (Under 20’s) coach and former teammate Luke Burt said it was important that the rugby league community supported the Robinson family: “Chad was a good friend to many of us and we want to make sure Kiara and Cooper know they have a wider family who want to help and support them”.
Current Sydney Roosters board member and former teammate, Luke Ricketson, welcomed the opportunity to assist in the establishment of an education fund for Chad’s children.
“The loss of Chad has certainly been felt by everyone at the Roosters and Eels, as well as the broader rugby league community, and this is one small way we can help his family, especially Kiara and Cooper, at this very difficult time,” said Ricketson.
