Before the Roosters kick off their 2017 NRL campaign in March, they took to the turf in Mackay for a pre-season trial against the Cowboys last Saturday night.

Over the course of the 80 minutes, two members of the squad sustained injuries.

Scans have confirmed that Joseph Manu is dealing with a knee cartilage sprain, while Bernard Lewis was forced from the field after sustaining a strained groin.

It is unclear as to whether or not they will be available for this week’s Community Cup, as they are awaiting further tests to determine a timetable for return.
