The Sydney Roosters have today announced that the Club’s association with Adelaide will continue for a further two years, with the Roosters slated to host a ‘home’ game at the iconic Adelaide Oval in seasons 2018 and 2019.
This follows the success of the first-ever match played in Adelaide by the Sydney Roosters in 2017. The Round 16 match saw the Roosters host the Melbourne Storm in a thrilling encounter, with the Roosters claiming a 25-24 Golden Point win before a crowd of 21,492.
“We’re excited to be returning to Adelaide Oval. There was a great atmosphere at our game on the Oval in 2017, and the match definitely delivered in both quality and theatre, so we’re looking forward to seeing that support continue to grow over the next few years,” said Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson.
In 2018, the Roosters will again host the Storm at Adelaide Oval, with the Round 16 match scheduled for Friday, June 29 at 7.50pm.
In lead-up to the fixture, the Roosters will host a number of opportunities for the local community to showcase rugby league and provide an opportunity to engage with the team.
Roosters captain, Jake Friend, said: “It was great to see so many of our Members and supporters make the trip from interstate to cheer us on, so hopefully that will continue. There was also really strong interest in rugby league and the Roosters from all the local communities we visited in lead-up to the game, so hopefully that will keep growing too.”
The Roosters have also unveiled details of a special South Australia membership to coincide with today’s announcement, with Membership options available for adults, juniors and families that include all exclusive Membership benefits as well as reserved tickets to the match in Adelaide.
