The Sydney Roosters have welcomed today’s announcement by the NSW Government, confirming the allocation of funding for a Sydney Roosters Centre of Excellence.
The NSW Government has committed $5.765 million to the Sydney Roosters project in the Moore Park precinct.
The announcement, made by the Minister for Sport, Mr Stuart Ayres, forms an integral component of the Roosters’ strategy and commitment to increasing grassroots participation and engagement through the delivery of the Club’s community programs.
“We extend our thanks to the NSW Government for their commitment to providing the highest quality facilities which will not only benefit those at NRL level, but also those throughout our community from grassroots to elite level competition,” said Roosters CEO Joe Kelly.
“This also ensures that the Roosters will have a permanent home within the Moore Park precinct, which is terrific for our Members, supporters and wider community who will enjoy an even greater connection to the Club,” added Mr Kelly.
Today’s announcement compliments the NSW Government’s stadia strategy which will see a world-class new home ground at Allianz Stadium for the Sydney Roosters from 2021.
