Throughout February and March, the Sydney Roosters will be out in the community as they roll out their ‘Sydney Roosters Community Carnival’ initiative.
The carnival aims to inspire the community, in particular the younger generations, into making positive and long-lasting lifestyle choices.
As part of the initiative, Roosters players visited school assemblies throughout the Eastern Suburbs to deliver important programs such as tackle bullying, respect, and wellbeing.
Roosters favourites Mitchell Aubusson and Joseph Manu visited Bronte Public School to deliver the vital tackle bullying message.
It included a discussion on the various forms of bullying that are prevalent in modern society, which are verbal, physical, social, and physiological abuse.
They also discussed the rise of cyber bullying and how it affects student life.
They offered advice on what to do if you find yourself to be a victim of bullying, with staying calm and reporting the issue being emphasized.
Cooper Cronk and Dylan Napa visited Kensington Public School to talk about wellbeing, with topics such as nutrition, positive lifestyle choices and sportsmanship being covered.
The Roosters played interactive learning games with the students to emphasise the message of healthy eating as a lifestyle choice and forming good habits as a key to self-improvement.
All the sessions ended with a Q&A for the kids who enjoyed the chance to quiz some of their favourite players!
