King has been working relentlessly with the younger players over the pre-season, and is thrilled to see their hard work rewarded with spots in the line-up this week.
"Three months is a long time to work on your fitness and skills, but those young guys get a real crack at it this weekend.
"For some of them, they get to pull on a Roosters jumper for the first time and get to play against some really handy first graders.
"A lot of hard work’s gone into it and they really deserve their crack tomorrow night."
The Penrith Panthers has named a near full-strength first grade side, which will make tomorrow night an exciting challenge for the balanced Roosters roster.
"We’ve put together a team that we’re really happy with, a team that we believe that can go and do a job for us tomorrow.
"Every team works really hard, you don’t compete in the NRL without working hard, but to see the care and the attitude the boys have gone around their hard work has been really impressive."
Ultimately, we just want to see them transfer what they’ve done for the last three months onto the field
