Ahead of tomorrow evening's clash with the Newcastle Knights, Head Coach Trent Robinson fronted the media to discuss a number of topics.

He touched on last week's match, what the Roosters are looking to improve on, Latrell Mitchell's 50th NRL game and more.

When discussing the Bulldogs game last week, Robinson said it was a much better performance but there was room to improve.

"Defense was pretty strong," he said. "But there were two tries that were a bit disappointing, in the way we want to defend."

"For Round 2 it's not too bad, but there are still big improvements to be made."

The much-publicised match up with former Roosters players was also covered.

"We know they are in the opposition," Robinson said. "But we want to play better footy, and that's what we're focused on."

"We're focused on playing our best footy, and it's against Newcastle this week."

Robinson also praised Latrell Mitchell ahead of the young talent's 50th NRL game.

"He's one of the last to leave the training field everyday," Robinson said.

"He works hard on his game, he studies his game, and people see those moments and just think 'talent' were as we see a lot of effort put in, and a lot of thought."
