Sydney Roosters forward Isaac Liu was named in the NRL Academic Team of the Year at the RLPA Players Champion awards on Tuesday night.
He is currently enrolled in a Certificate IV in Design at TAFE NSW Design Centre Enmore.
He was nominated by the Sydney Roosters Wellbeing and Education team for his commitment to continuing education and his role as Sydney Roosters Wellbeing and Education Ambassador.
Isaac has been a strong role model to younger players at the Sydney Roosters as he shows the way both on and off-the-field.
He presented to the Under 16s and Under 18s about the benefit of engaging off-field pursuits earlier in the year, and has acted as a mentor to other young athletes looking at design studies.
The Sydney Roosters remain indebted to TAFE NSW Design Centre Enmore, who have provided opportunities for our athletes to be engaged in design studies around their football schedules.
They also run an industry speaker series so athletes that are interested in a post-football design career can learn about those that have built successful careers in different areas of design.
Isaac has two units left to complete in his Certificate IV in Design and is looking forward to further exploring his creative interests in the coming years.
He will be supported with further education through the RLPA education grants available to all NRL players and to the education grant he received as a recipient within the NRL Academic Team of the Year.
The Sydney Roosters congratulate Isaac Liu and look forward to seeing his continued success.
