A teacher from St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School Clovelly received a surprise visit by Lachlan Lam this week.
Year 5/6 Teacher Aleksandar Sasha Juric, an official Teacher Ambassador for the Sydney Roosters, received the first Sydney Roosters Teacher of the Year Award.
As a staunch Sydney Roosters supporter himself, Juric has actively advocated the Club through NRL Gala Days and programs that promote respect, and resilience at his school.
He is one of the many teachers who took part in the program this year, but has consistently gone over and above in promoting the Club to the school community.
As an ex-student of St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School himself, Lam returned to reward Juric with a signed jersey for his work as Ambassador this year.
The students enjoyed meeting Lam and asked him questions about what life was like at St Anthony’s only a few years ago.

2020 Sydney Roosters Teacher Ambassador of the Year Program Information.
The Sydney Roosters are looking for teachers in the Eastern Suburbs to become Sydney Roosters Teacher Ambassadors during 2020.
The program offers school contacts the opportunity to link with the Sydney Roosters and is designed to recognise and reward teachers who actively promote the Sydney Roosters and Rugby League in the community. Most importantly, the program allows priority access to participating schools for community initiatives.
The Sydney Roosters are looking for one representative from each school to participate as an official ambassador and to share their passion for the Roosters with their school community.
Representatives in the program can be classroom teachers, sports/ PDHPE teachers or principals.
Ambassador Opportunities:
- Participating ambassadors will agree to be the main point of contact for the school and to distribute information to staff and students about community initiatives they can be involved in.
- Ambassadors are encouraged to register as quickly as possible to be invited to the exclusive Sydney Roosters Teacher Function that will be held during Term 1, 2019.
- The program will also give teachers and schools the opportunity to provide valuable feedback to the Sydney Roosters Community Department with the goal to help create meaningful projects in the community.
Every Sydney Roosters Teacher Ambassador for 2020 will receive an official Sydney Roosters Teacher Ambassador Polo.
