Sydney Roosters delivers the NRL CareerWise program to all ages, from elite juniors (U16s and U18s), State Cup, Jersey Flegg and NRL Players.
The CareerWise program helps players engage in work, study, work experience, volunteer work, and networking that will help them make a smooth transition from professional athlete to professional something else.
In 2019, Sydney Roosters players were studying or working across a range of industries, including: automotive, business, building and construction, carpentry, design pathways, education support, fitness, plumbing, telecommunications, warehousing, and youth work.
We need your help!
The Roosters want to hear from businesses that may have suitable work opportunities for our Under 18s and Under 20s squads. These work opportunities could include:
- Apprenticeships
- Traineeships
- Casual work
- Full-time work
- Work experience
All Junior Rep players need to work or study a minimum of 24 hours per week to be eligible to play, and all compulsory training sessions are outside the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Due to playing commitments during the season, we are particularly looking for employers that can offer flexibility. In return, you’ll gain an employee that is:
- Committed
- Driven
- Team-oriented
- Knows how to work hard to achieve success
Our new Junior Rep players for 2019 are interested in exploring a range of career areas, whilst others are looking for some casual work over summer before they commence study in 2020.
If you have suitable work opportunities for these players, please email Narelle Hess, Career Coach – narelleh@sydneyroosters.com.au with your name and contact details.
