After a clinical win over the Bulldogs five weeks earlier, the script changed for their second meeting of the season.
Concluding this battle, the Bulldogs went on a four game winning streak and hit their straps for their 2019 campaign.
The Roosters looked to be the better side after the first stanza, scoring two tries through James Tedesco and Joseph Manu.
The second half was a different story, with the relentless Bulldogs going toe-to-tie with the Roosters to make it a competitive battle.
It was defence that saw the Tricolours reign victorious in the end and a strong performance from Sam Verrills in his first 80 minute performance.
