Jamie Feeney appointed Roosters 2020 NRL Women’s Head Coach

The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce that Jamie Feeney has been appointed Head Coach of the Roosters 2020 NRL Women’s Premiership team.

Feeney has been involved with the New South Wales Women’s team for many years, and has been an Assistant Coach of the Australian Jillaroos since 2016 whilst also holding the role of the NRL’s Female Pathway Manager since 2018.

More recently, with a number of full-time NRL staff affected by the closure of offices around the country, Feeney has been acting as a biosecurity liaison officer with the Roosters. He will transition into his role with the Club’s NRLW side after spending the last nine weeks with the Roosters NRL staff and players.

In assuming this coaching position with the Roosters, Feeney will step away from his role at the NRL for the duration of the 2020 NRLW Premiership season. During this time, he will also stand down from all official NRL duties including Dally M, Jillaroos and Development Team selections.

“Jamie has had an opportunity to experience the strong culture we have here at the Roosters over the last few months, and together with his vast experience in the Women’s game, we’re pleased to welcome him to the role of NRLW Head Coach for the Roosters in 2020,” said Roosters General Manager Football Programs, Craig Walker.

Joining Feeney will be Central Coast Roosters NSW Women’s Premiership coach John Strange, and the Sydney Roosters 2020 Women’s NRL Nines coach Kylie Hilder as assistant coaches.
