It was a grinding back-and-forth opening quarter of the match, then Cooper Cronk would open the scoring for the Tricolours.

Luke Keary set up Latrell Mitchell for a brilliant four-pointer as the siren sounded to give the Roosters a 12-0 lead heading into the break.

The Roosters would carry on the momentum of the first half finish and start the second half with three quick fire tries to give themselves a 30-0 lead.

The final try scored by Matt Ikuvalu was a strong contender for try of the year on the back of a clever flick pass from Joseph Manu.

The Sharks made a strong run at the back end of the game, but the Roosters would come away with a solid 30-16 win to propel themselves into second place on the NRL ladder.
