Tackle Safe with Friendy!

If you want to learn how to tackle safely, you’ve got to learn from the best!

Friendy’s Footy Safe Tackling program aims to introduce kids to the fundamental skills of Rugby League in a fun and safe environment.

The Sydney Roosters Community team launched the first week of the program on Tuesday 2nd February at Waverley Park.

Over 20 kids took part in the day and were excited and ready to learn drills that focused on the basic fundamentals, including ball handling, preparing to land safely, along with agility and evasion skills.

Sydney Roosters Captain Jake Friend was thrilled to see so many young kids ready to learn Rugby League.

“It’s great that kids have access to a safe and fun environment to learn in,” Jake said.

“They were all running around with smiles on their faces, laughing and celebrating when their team won a relay race.”

This is what sport is all about!

Jake and the Community team are looking forward to watching all the kids develop over the next 3 weeks, and we will see everyone next Tuesday 9th for Week 2 of Friendy’s Footy.

You can still sign your kids up, with registration closing Friday 5th of February.
