Alongside the Men of League Foundation, the Sydney Roosters are helping to support Club Legend Barry 'Bunny' Reilly, and are calling on any and all to help celebrate his 74th birthday.
A Premiership winner in the 1970s and regarded as one of the toughest players to have pulled on the Red, White and Blue, Reilly has been battling through a number of health issues over the past year and is currently receiving dialysis treatment three times a week.
Roosters call to help Club Legend Bunny Reilly
To celebrate his birthday and support one of the greats of the Club, the Roosters and Men of League are collecting donations to help the Reilly family through what is no doubt a tough period.
Former teammate Terry Murphy elaborated further about the initiative.
"There's a gathering at Little Bay with some of his closest friends from the Club," he said.
"We're having coffee and cake and there are a few surprise guests. It will be a gathering of around 20-odd people to reminisce and tell a few stories.
"Men of League have a link where you can donate, with all funds going to the Reilly family to cover his medical costs. The more funds we can raise the better, and the easier it will be for his wife and family in what is a difficult time.
"He's a legend of the Paddington Colts and Easts Rugby League."
