The Sydney Roosters are proud to announce the line up for the Round 11 match against the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday afternoon at the Sydney Cricket Ground at 5:30pm.

The match will be specially themed to celebrate the career of Roosters captain Jake Friend, who retired earlier this season after a stellar 264-game career where he won three premierships, made more than 11,000 tackles and captained the Club in 121 matches.

Prior to kick-off, a number of key figures who played a significant role through the entirety of Friend's career will speak on his insurmountable contributions to the Club.

Post-match, Roosters Members and supporters will have an opportunity to send off the inspirational skipper as part of a special on-field presentation.

Members and supporters are encouraged to use the hashtag #CelebrateJake this week across social media by sharing their favourite moments and stories to celebrate the career of Jake Friend.

Celebrating the Career of Jake Friend

Round 11 will mark the 54th match between the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos since their entry into the top-flight competition in 1988.

Although Brisbane hold a better overall record with the Roosters winning 22 matches (42%), the Red, White and Blue recorded their two biggest victories over their Queensland-based opponents in 2020, winning 59-nil in Round 4 and 58-12 in the return match in Round 16.

The ledger has been fairly even in recent years, with the sides sharing the spoils over the last ten matches with five each, while the Tricolours have won three of the past four encounters.

The Roosters will be looking to back up their Magic Round effort against the Cowboys with a win, returning home to the SCG for the first time since Round 7, while the Broncos are aiming to claim their third win of the season.
