Roosters Radio Episode 100: Trent Robinson

In this week's episode, we sit down with super coach Trent Robinson.

Robbo shares with us why he has loved coaching this season, from the challenges the team has faced with injuries and suspensions, bringing in seven debutants and how that has changed his coaching style from week to week and how the senior players have stood up and set the standard.

We get his views on Joey Manu at no. 6, an update on Boyd Cordner and the reasoning behind his B+ marking of our season thus far, and an insight into how he will be spending his time away from footy as we head into this week's bye round!

Despite a turbulent first half of season 2021, which has seen a number of injuries and suspensions affect the squad, Robinson says he is enjoying seeing his squad turn up and play with resilience in the famous Red, White and Blue.

"(We've) missed a couple of opportunities, but I've actually really loved the first twelve weeks," Robinson admitted.

"It's obviously been well-documented, the issues that we've had there and the losses we've had. I didn't expect Friendy (Jake Friend) to sort of play ten minutes and to lose Brett (Morris), Lindsay (Collins) and (Luke) Keary and then (Sam) Verrills and just have all the different things that have happened this year.

"I've absolutely loved the coaching as well because we've had to adapt on the run each week. Every week has been a big week and for the most part, I've loved the way that it went by.

"I reckon we've really instilled a really strong Roosters brand of footy and attitudes of playing."
