The North Sydney Bears were bested in their qualifying final, but will have a second bite of the cherry when they face the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs this Saturday.
Bears Bested in Qualifying Final
The North Sydney Bears were unable to claim a victory in the first week of finals against the Penrith Panthers, defeated 22-14 at St Marys Leagues Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Norths got on the board early against their opponents with Siua Wong scoring from 20 metres out to give his side the lead, however, their opponents ran in three unanswered tries with a ten-point deficit at the break.
Not to be deterred, the red and black hit back to start the second half through five-eighth Kieran Hayman, who stepped through to narrow the gap to six points with just over half an hour remaining.
