On this week's episode of Roosters Radio, we are joined by our NRLW Captain and NSW player of the year, Isabelle Kelly, along with our NRLW super coach John Strange.
Isabelle talks about the growth and improvement of the Women's game since she first started playing, her new role as Captain of our great Club and our performance against the Knights over the weekend.
We also review our NRL finals clash against Souths and preview this weekend's NRLW clash against the Gold Coast Titans.
Kelly touched on the growing nature of the women's game, and how imperative professional environments such as the Roosters are helping it catch up to the quality of the NRL.
“I think it just goes to show how far the women’s game has come,” Kelly said.
“The more that we’re in these professional environments around these NRL clubs, girls are just improving week-in-week-out.
Kelly Streaks Away to Seal the Result
“I know when I started when I was 18, it was definitely not like this. You could run the ball and not be too scared about being whacked.
“But these days you have so many front rowers that can move and are quite agile, so as an outside back you pick who you’re running at!
“It’s good to see that’s the way the game is going and that girls are just getting better and better with their contact.”
