Sydney Roosters duo James Tedesco and Raecene McGregor have both been named the Rugby League Players' Association NRL Player of the Year and NRLW Player of the Year as voted by their peers.
Tedesco claimed his third 'Players Champion' award following wins in 2017 and 2019 off the back of his record fifth consecutive Jack Gibson Medal as the Roosters' Player of the Year.
On behalf of the RLPA, I would like to congratulate Raecene and James on this incredible recognition from their fellow players. To be named by your peers as The Players’ Champion and the best player in your competition for that season is a remarkable and humbling honour.

McGregor's latest award comes following a whirlwind week that saw the diminutive no.7 claim the NRLW Dally M Player of the Year, before being crowned the Sydney Rooters' KARI NRLW Player of the Year.
Clint Newton, Chief Executive Officer of the RLPA, congratulated McGregor and Tedesco on their Players’ Champion accolades:
“On behalf of the RLPA, I would like to congratulate Raecene and James on this incredible recognition from their fellow players. To be named by your peers as The Players’ Champion and the best player in your competition for that season is a remarkable and humbling honour," Mr Newton said via NRL.com.
Tedesco & McGregor Crowned RLPA Players' Champions
“James has been one of the most outstanding players in the NRL for a number of years now, excelling at every level of the game from club, to Origin and to the international game.
"The fact that he has now won three Players’ Champion awards and is only one short of Thurston’s record of four is a testament to the quality of player and person that he is."
