Top 10 Highlights of 2022: '02 Anniversary Celebrations

Season 2022 provided plenty of memorable moments, and through the off-season, we'll be counting down the top 10 highlights of the year that was.

Up next is the 20-year anniversary celebrations of the 2002 NRL Grand Final victory.

In some aspects, it's hard to believe that the famous 30-8 win was some 20 years ago.

'02 Legends Reflect on Reunion

The likes of Captain Brad Fittler, tearaways Craig Fitzgibbon and Bryan Fletcher, stalwart Luke Ricketson and the dazzling Anthony Minichiello and Craig Wing broke a 27-year drought in emphatic circumstances.

Those very same household names, along with a vast majority of their Premiership-winning teammates were on hand in April as the Club celebrated their accomplishment two decades on.

A private luncheon hosted at the Sydney Cricket Ground saw the legends of 2002 present jerseys to the team set to line up against the Warriors in their heritage kits, in a passing of the torch from past to present.

Round 6 Highlights: Roosters vs Warriors

The beloved champion squad were then celebrated by the Roosters' faithful on gameday in a lap of honour around the hallowed venue on a sun-kissed afternoon as Red, White and Blue streamed from the bleachers.

The 2022 Roosters did their counterparts proud ion the field, channelling the heroics and overcoming an early 8-nil deficit to power home in front of a roaring home crowd.

Daniel Tupou moved into equal second on the Club's try-scoring list, sitting only behind Minichiello, while Joseph Suaalii and Sam Verrills made their much-anticipated first appearances of 2022.

There were even more celebrations to be had as both squads crammed into the SCG sheds to belt out the team song following the 22-14 win - a true indication of the camaraderie amongst the group that still lives on to this day.
