Sydney Roosters Women’s Pathways teams recorded significant wins over the weekend fixtures, with the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership Central Coast Roosters beating Wests Tigers 38-6. While the Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy continued their undefeated season, crushing the North Sydney Bears 36-8.

Both teams are on track to make finals should their impressive form continue.

Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership

The Central Coast Roosters recorded their third win of the season, defeating Wests Tigers 38-6 at Morry Breen Oval on Saturday.

Coming off a lost last week, the Roosters knew they needed a strong win to get their season back on track.

The Roosters and Tigers traded blows in first minutes of the game with Central Coast second-rower Olivia Kernick crossing to open the home side’s account in the 24th minute.

Jocelyn Kelleher kicked the conversion to give her team an early lead.

Captain Isabelle Kelly added another four points to the board nine minutes later, putting the Tricolours ahead by 10 at half-time.

Five-eighth Tarryn Aiken got the Roosters off to a strong second-half start, scoring in the 39th minute.

Needing a response, Tigers hooker Ebony Prior dived over off dummy-half while Emily Curtain added the extras to reduce the deficit to eight.

Prior’s try lit a fire under the Central Coast team, instigating a five-try onslaught in the minutes that followed.  Prop Otesa Pule found the line in the 52nd minute, with Carissa Reid adding another four points just three minutes later.

Aiken, Reid and Kelly claimed doubles in the final 10 minutes of the match, while Keller slotted three from eight conversions to lock in a 32-point victory for the Roosters.

Tarsha Gale

The Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy concluded their fifth round of the season with a 28-point win over the North Sydney Bears, cementing their place on top of the Tarsha Gale ladder.

Captain Ally Bullman was a glimmering light for the Tricolours, scoring one try and kicking six from six conversions in a triumphant win for her team.

The Indigenous Academy got off to a flying start with Bullman scoring in the third minute of the match, as North Sydney scrambled to defend the second-rower.

Roosters hooker Imogen Hei extended the Red, White and Blue’s lead 10 minutes later with a play from dummy-half.

North Sydney found their way over through centre Caitlin Hollis in the 28th minute. The home side would cross again in the middle of the second half through Bullman’s opposite, Kianna Bright, but the effort was overpowered by a Roosters attacking raid.

Tries to Sharlize Campbell, Skyla Adams, Eliza Lopamaua and Paige Lowe solidified the incredible win for the visitors. The Tarsha Gale team will now enjoy a sixth round bye, before facing the Rabbitohs on March 18.
