Pre-Game Guide: Anzac Day

If you’re attending our 22nd annual Anzac Cup clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons on Tuesday April 25, be sure to arrive at Allianz Stadium early to enjoy all of the game day activities happening in and around the precinct commencing at 12:30pm.

Inside the Plaza

The Plaza located between Allianz Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground will open for the first time during a Sydney Roosters event on Tuesday, operating as a ‘fan zone’ between 12:30pm and 3:00pm.

The Noble Bar will offer Great Northern beers for only $9 as part of their happy hour special, running from 12:30pm-2:30pm.

With live music adding to the atmosphere, the fan zone will also feature a two-up arena, allowing attendees to participate in a long-running Anzac Day tradition ahead of the game. The Australian Defence Force will also be in attendance, displaying military vehicles.

Check out the all-new Hyundai vehicle on display at the front of Gate 6, while picking up your free Roosters Try-Time banner from the Roosters Girls at Gates 1, 3 and 5.

Eliminate your pre-game jitters while singing at the top of your lungs thanks to Budget, who will be running a 'Car-aoke' with a live DJ inside the fan zone. Or, try your hand at passing the ball with the Game Day Squad.

There’s an activity for everyone inside the Plaza!

Outside Gate 1

From 12:30pm on Tuesday, Roosters Membership and Merchandise stands will be operating outside of Gate 1. Be sure to chat to our friendly membership team about a package that suits you, as we look to hit the 20,000 Member mark by the end of 2023.

Create your own trading card in Red Rooster’s photo booth! With appearances from Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons’ club legends, Rocky the Rooster and the Roosters Girls, you never know who may feature in the background of your one-off image. Red Rooster will also be giving away merchandise under their marquee.

Legacy Australia will be handing out sprigs of rosemary outside Gate 1, be sure to collect yours and display the symbol of remembrance during the game.

Inside Allianz Stadium

Inside Allianz Stadium 50-50 fundraising will be roaming the concourse, selling tickets to their 50-50 draw to raise funds for the Turkey Earthquake appeal, in partnership with Turkish Rugby League. The winner of the draw will take home half of the money raised, while the other 50 percent will go towards the appeal.

At 1:50pm Australian Defence Force Rugby League will take on Australian Fire Fighters Rugby League for the Gallipoli Cup.

The Anzac Ceremony will commence at 3:30pm, with parachuters delivering the match ball. Past players will bring out the Anzac Cup, while ANZAC messages from current players will be displayed on the big screen.

Fallen players will be acknowledged, before the Military Cadet Band commences their ensemble.

Riderless horses and army vehicles with the Ashton and Collier families will parade around the field prior to the traditional Anzac Ceremony that features the Ode, the Last Post, the Rouse and the Australian and New Zealand National Anthems.

The crowd will also be invited to participate in a minute’s silence, to honour the generations of servicemen and women who have defended our values and freedoms in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

The Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons NRL match will officially kick-off at 4:05pm.
