The Sydney Roosters’ draw for the 2023 NRLW draw has been released with four home games and two double-headers among the highlights for the nine-round season.
The Roosters will travel a total of 3,884km, playing games on the Sunshine Coast, Central Coast and Gold Coast. Their season also features trips to Newcastle, Canberra and the Sutherland Shire.
Kicking off on Saturday July 22, the Roosters will commence their campaign against the Brisbane Broncos at Sunshine Coast Stadium, in a bid to start the season in winning fashion.
The following round, they’ll travel from Queensland to the nation’s capital to face the Canberra Raiders for the first time in NRLW history at GIO Stadium - a match that will no doubt have plenty of fireworks!
The Roosters NRLW side will host their first home game in Round 3, welcoming the St. George Illawarra Dragons to the hallowed Sydney Cricket Ground on August 3rd. The match will be the first of two double-headers this season, with the NRL fixture to follow at 7:50pm.
Ten days later, the Roosters are on the bus again, this time embarking on a journey to the Shire to face the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in a PointsBet Stadium blockbuster.
John Strange’s team will fly to the Gold Coast to face the Titans at Cbus Super Stadium in Round 5, where they’ll attempt to replicate a similar performance to last year’s resounding 38-12 win over the Queensland-based squad.
The Roosters will host their second double-header at Allianz Stadium in Round 6, with both the NRLW and NRL teams playing the Wests Tigers in a festival of football on Saturday August 26.
The team will draw on their strong Central Coast roots in Round 7, when they take the game to Industree Group Stadium for a semi-final rematch against the Parramatta Eels.
A challenge awaits the Roosters the following week, when they face the reigning premiers at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday September 9. Set for a 1:50pm kick-off, the Red, White and Blue will go toe-to-toe with some familiar faces in what is set to be a hard-fought battle.
In the final regular season round, Easts will host the new North Queensland Cowboys side at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday September 16. Both teams will be hungry to secure a win ahead of the finals series, so expect this to be one of the toughest games of the season!
