The Sydney Roosters are proud to announce the line-up to face the St George Illawarra Dragons at 6:00pm on Friday evening at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah, home of the Bidjigal and Bediagal peoples.

This week the Roosters will proudly wear the 2023 Artie Beetson Jersey, paying tribute to Arthur Beetson’s journey as an Aboriginal man and a rugby league legend, as the NRL celebrates Indigenous Round.

The Roosters will also wear boots specially designed by First Nations students on Friday night, in collaboration with Cultural Choice Association’s Boots for Brighter Futures Initiative.

Indigenous Round marks the second outing between the Roosters and Dragons this season. On Anzac Day, the Tricolours claimed a one-point win over their southern rivals to obtain the Anzac Cup and they’ll be searching for another victory when they meet St George Illawarra for the 49th time in NRL history this week.

Trent Robinson has made multiple changes to his line-up for Indigenous Round. Egan Butcher returns to start in the second row after sustaining a concussion in Round 10, while Drew Hutchison has been named at halfback.

James Tedesco will captain from fullback again this week, joining the skipper in the backline are wingers Corey Allan and Jaxson Paulo as well as centres Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii and Billy Smith.

Luke Keary will make his 190th NRL appearance at five-eighth this week alongside Hutchison, who slots into the halves, after Joseph Manu sustained moderate ligament damage in his right ankle while playing against the Panthers last week.

The front-row features Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Brandon Smith and Lindsay Collins. Sitili Tupouniua will get his first start of the season in the second row this week, while Egan Butcher and Victor Radley round out the starting side.

Jake Turpin, Nat Butcher, Angus Crichton and Matt Lodge make up the interchange bench, with Sandon Smith named as the 18th man. Fletcher Baker, Nathan Brown, Junior Pauga and Terrell May complete the Indigenous Round line-up on the extended bench.
