Less than a month after taking out the competition’s top honour, Sydney Roosters forward Max McCathie has been awarded the 2023 Arthur Beetson Medal as the Club’s Jersey Flegg Player of the Year.
Featuring in all but three of the Roosters’ 26 games throughout the season, McCathie played a monumental role in propelling his team to their second consecutive Minor Premiership with four tries to his tally.
McCathie has led by example throughout the year, encouraging others with inspirational pep-talks and embodying a team-first attitude at training and during the games.
Kyron Fekitoa Claims Players’ Player
Recognised by his peers, strike centre Kyron Fekitoa claimed the 2023 Players’ Player award for his impressive season.
The young outside back was incredibly strong on the edge throughout the year, bagging five tries in the opening rounds to receive a call up to make his NSW Cup debut against the Canberra Raiders in Round 17.
His dedication and enthusiasm both on and off the field was pivotal to the Tricolours’ 2023 campaign and aptly acknowledged by his teammates.
Angus Fahey Takes Out Michael Relf Jersey Flegg Clubman of the Year
Angus Fahey has taken out the inaugural Michael Relf Jersey Flegg Clubman of the Year Award for his Club-first mindset.
Named in honour of Michael Relf, who helped steer the Sydney City Roosters to their first Jersey Flegg Premiership in 1995, Fahey has made a significant impact on his peers throughout the year - delivering words of encouragement and leading by example.
