Connor Watson has been nominated for the 2024 Ken Stephens Community Award following his outstanding work away from his Rugby League commitments - and today is the final day for voting!
Connor's Community Contributions
Watson has continued his dedicated community work through his family's charity, Cultural Choice Association (CCAI) which has been instrumental in suicide prevention in Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander youth.
Boots For Brighter Futures
The Association headlines the Boots for a Brighter Futures initiative, which gives young Indigenous students the opportunity to provide specially designed boots that are worn during the NRL's Indigenous Round, and then auctioned off for charity.
In 2024, over 50 students provided boots, with $15,000 raised.
Connor has also gone above and beyond his duty to the local Eastern Suburbs community, having recognised Indigenous students in their selection in the NRL's Youth Leadership Summit as Roosters representatives through the School to Work program, while also participating in the Kids Giving Back volunteer program as well as the Royal Lifesaving NSW Water Safety Campaign at Bondi Icebergs.
