Whilst the NRL team enjoyed the weekend off with a bye there was plenty of action elsewhere for the other Roosters and affiliate teams.
The highlight of the weekend was the Ipswich Jets, after 11 straight losses, winning their second successive match with a 48-12 win over the Western Clydesdales at the North Ipswich Reserve.
Our Roosters Jersey Flegg team, coming off six successive losses, suffered an unlucky defeat with a last-minute field goal giving the Wests Tigers a 13-12 win at Wentworth Park.
In the top of the table Ron Massey Cup clash at Wentworth Park the Glebe Dirty Reds, who led 22-0 at half time, went down 28-26 to ladder leaders St Marys with Saints scoring two tries in the last eight minutes to snatch victory.
All eight teams will be in action this weekend with the third placed NRL team traveling interstate to face the second placed Melbourne Storm in a blockbuster clash.
