The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Sitili Tupouniua has been granted an early release and will depart the Roosters at the end of the 2024 NRL season to link with another NRL club.
“The Roosters and the people at the Club will always be my family. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities I have had, and for the lifelong friendships I have made,” said Tupouniua.
“I’m keen to keep giving my all, playing my role and doing the best I can for the Roosters for the rest of this year,” he added.
Player 1178, Tupouniua made his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2018, having progressed through the Club’s Pathway Program. He has played 96 NRL games to date.
“Sitili has been with us since he was a teenager and his dedication, hard work and spirit are a reflection of the good person he is on and off the field. He will always be part of the Roosters family and will leave the Club with our very best wishes,” said Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson.
“We’ve still got a way to go together though, and I’m looking forward to seeing out the remainder of the year with Sitili,” he added.
