Daniel Tupou to remain a one-club player

The Sydney Roosters are thrilled to announce that Daniel Tupou has extended his contract with the Club for a further two years, ensuring he will remain a one-club player through to the end of the 2026 season.

Player number 1130, Tupou has been a key figure in the Roosters’ squad and a mainstay of the team’s left edge since making his debut in 2012. With 156 tries in the 258 NRL games he has played to date, the three-time Premiership winner is the longest-serving member of the Roosters’ backline and the Club’s all-time leading try scorer. He is currently sixth on the list of games played for the Club.

Tupou, who has crossed for 13 tries in his 17 games so far in 2024, was excited to re-commit for a further two seasons.

“I'm incredibly grateful to be able to continue my journey with the Sydney Roosters. This is my home, and I'm honoured to have the opportunity to keep representing in the jersey that means so much to me,” said Tupou.

Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, was pleased that Tupou’s experience would continue to benefit the team.

“Daniel has been the cornerstone of our team for more than a decade now and he is someone we all regard very highly and respect,” said Robinson.

“His incredible work ethic and dedication to the team is a reflection of the special player and person ‘Toops’ (Tupou) is, so I’m really pleased that his experience will continue to benefit those around him,” he added.
