The Sydney Roosters Jersey Flegg team has returned to the winner’s circle with a convincing 36-8 victory over affiliate club, Kaiviti Silktails in Fiji.
The Roosters scored their 6 tries in the first 44 minutes of the match to set up the win and claim the Jacquie Sahnnon Memorial Bowl for 2024.
The Central Coast Roosters have notched up their first win over the season with a 15-14 win over the Wests Tigers in Gosford.
The scores were locked at 14-14 with three seconds on the clock but Roosters half back Melanie Watherston calmly potted the winning field goal to claim victory to the delight of the home fans.
In the Ron Massey Cup, Glebe have wrapped up a semi final spot, with a round to spare, by defeating 5th placed Ryde-Eastwood 36-18 at Glebe.
The Dirty Reds are also an outside chance for a Top Two spot if results go their way in the final round next weekend.
In The Sydney Shield, Glebe have dropped to 5th on the table after going down 40-12 to runaway ladder leaders Wentworthville at Glebe. However, Glebe can still qualify for the semi finals if they can beat St Marys by ten or more when they clash in the final round on Sunday at home.
