The Sydney Roosters were given the opportunity to visit the City of Sydney’s Fire Station recently, to gain insight into a profession that many express interest in as a post-football career option.
Crows Nest Station Officer Sam Monaghan presented Victor Radley, Egan Butcher, and Jersey Flegg player Daniel Readon with insightful recruitment videos, discussed personal experiences, and gave a detailed tour of the entire Station.
The visit focussed on transferable skills of athletes, self-care, and performance under pressure.
The players got the opportunity to try their hand at various drills such as knocking down doors using equipment and changing into Fire Safety uniforms and apparel.
The Roosters were also offered ongoing support to players who are serious about exploring Fire and Rescue as a profession.
The Sydney Roosters would like to thank those involved for their time and valuable information!
