Roosters staff have collaborated with Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and artist Tavita Mose to create a special multicultural shirt that celebrates the rich and diverse cultures within our group and across our club.
This project highlights the club’s commitment to recognizing and honoring the heritage of our players and the communities they represent.
Jared and Tavita first met in 2023 to discuss the concept, and earlier today, Tavita proudly presented the warm-up t-shirt to both the NRL and NRLW squads.
The incredible design represents a wide range of cultures, including Māori, Cook Islander, Tongan, Samoan, Fijian, Irish, Italian, and Aboriginal.
Players will wear the t-shirt this week as a celebration of the diversity that enriches our club.

About the Artist:
Tavita Mose is a New Zealand-born Samoan artist. His parents (RIL) are from the island of Savai’i in Samoa—his father from Puleia and his mother from Asau. Tavita has been a tattoo artist for over 18 years and is a self-taught artist with a lifelong passion for art.
He has traveled throughout Europe, tattooing and sharing his culture. Currently, he focuses on his business, Mana Ink Tattoo Studio, which opened in February 2023.
Tavita enjoys working with various mediums, whether it’s skin, canvas, clothing, or wood. He finds great satisfaction and reward in watching something evolve and seeing the final product come to life. When clients ask how he comes up with his designs, Tavita explains that once he hears a bit of their background story, images of patterns begin to form in his mind, piecing together their story until everything interlocks perfectly.
He often sees the finished design in his mind before he even starts drawing it. Something deep within him confirms, “Yes, that’s the one!”
Witnessing clients’ reactions—sometimes even tears—humbles him and brings him joy, knowing that he has been able to translate their stories through his mind, soul, and spirit onto whichever medium he is working on at the time.
Tavita leaves us with this thought:
"Be proud of your culture, be kind and help those in need, do the right thing, smile—it’s free—and treat others as you would want to be treated."
