Vale Kevin Goldspink

The Sydney Roosters are saddened by the news that one of its former players Kevin Goldspink has passed away at the age of 82.

Player Number 605, Goldspink had an illustrious rugby league career with Canterbury-Bankstown through the 1960s, highlighted by his selection on the 1967/68 Kangaroos tour of Europe.

Goldspink finished his Sydney career at the Roosters, playing 26 first grade games through 1970 and 1971 before taking up a captain/coach position in the Illawarra.

A second row forward, Goldspink was a member of the NSW Police force during his playing days and a proud member of the Goldspink family from the NSW southwest county town of Tumbarumba.

Famously, in 1963, Tumbarumba fielded a team in a Group 13 match against Tarcutta in which all players had the surname Goldspink. Kevin played in that team and was related to all of his team mates that day.

The Roosters pass on their sincerest condolences to the many friends and relatives of Kevin Goldspink.
