The Sydney Roosters Foundation has updated it’s honour boards, both in the reception of the Nick Politis Centre of Excellence and at the Academy Units in Kingsford.
Upon entering the NRL training facility at the Roosters’ Moore Park Headquarters, you will now see a new honour board immediately to the right of the front doors which proudly displays the names of our most significant contributors.
The top board recognises The Founders – a special group of 18 people who were brought together in 2021 to form and launch the Sydney Roosters Foundation, which in turn allowed for the establishment of the Sydney Roosters Academy.
The Founders set the benchmark for what it means to contribute to the Sydney Roosters Foundation and will always reserve a special place in Sydney Roosters Foundation’s legacy.
Immediately beneath The Founders honour board, is another display recognising the cumulative contribution to the Sydney Roosters Foundation by our most prolific donors across three categories; Centurions, Platinum and Diamond.
There has also been some work done at the Academy Units in Kingsford with recognition given to our Academy Hero donors, as well as a new wall of tributes to players that have come through the Sydney Roosters Academy and made their debut in the NRL.
Each category of Academy Hero contributions is now recognised at the entrance to the units, from Recruit to Legend status and the Sydney Roosters Foundation will seek to invite each donor through to see the honour board and the operations of the Academy Units throughout the 2025 season.
Serving as both honour and motivation is a new wall that recognises each player to have participated in the Sydney Roosters Academy program and gone on to make their First Grade debut with the Club.
Currently on the wall are Siua Wong, Blake Steep and De La Salle Va’a with the other players in the Academy all desperate to make sure they are the ones to fill the fourth, fifth and sixth spots on the wall.
